Shenzhen is considered one of the most successful and prosperous cities in China. It is located in the Guangdong province, along the border with Hong Kong. Although 30 years ago it was a small fishing village, the creation of the first Special Economic Zone transformed the region into a bustling metropolis with almost 15 million people.
Its shiny urban landscape and cultural life include contemporary icons like the Shenzhen Library, the Concert Hall, and the Portofino complex. The districts of Futian, Luohu and Nanshan are packed with modern hotels, including some of the best 4 and 5-star accommodation in Shenzhen.
The city is famous for its amusement parks, including the’Splendid China and China Folk Culture Villages’. During the 17th century, migrants from the northern Hakka peoples arrived in significant numbers, and remnants like the ‘Crane Lake Fortified Hakka Village’ are an important legacy. The region includes beautiful beaches, and the Dapeng Peninsula is gaining momentum as one of the country’s best coastal stretches.
The city is serviced by Bao'an International Airport, while Hong Kong International Airport is reachable by public transport. Ferry, bus and railway links to Hong Kong, Macau or Guangzhou are also available. Whether you need a fancy hotel in the business district or express accommodation near the airport, don’t miss the Shenzhen deals on Booking.com!
Shenzhen is a well managed modern city. It is ok even if you don't know a bit of Chinese. No problems in exploring and roaming around. Perfectly safe. Local Chinese people in Shenzhen are very cooperative and mind their own business. Very helpful and chill community. Night life is fantastic. I love to visit again for longer periods.

Shenzhen is a very vibrant city with a relatively young population, with the majority of the population under the age of 30. Nanshan is the high tech area where HQ's of tech firms are located, it is like Silicon Valley on steroids

Good place, much better than 20+ year ago when I used to worked around that area. But some people there quite rude, especially taking the MRT, people never follow rule to let passengers leave the car first. Also too many smoker, you can smell them at every street, every building, every toilet.....

The subway system is huge.
The subway system is huge. You can find subway entrances almost anywhere you go. I carried a subway map and this enabled me to change lines at interconnected stations to get back to my hotel. The subway stations often have shops and eateries. They are so big that you need to be careful which exit you use. You can end up hundreds of meters away from where you want to be. There are many parks that are well kept and shady. The visitor needs to be aware that this city is not centered around Western tourism. If you speak Chinese you will be better able to enjoy all ShenZhen has to offer. The theme parks of "Window of the World" and "Chinese Cultural Village" are huge. You need to walk around them for 4 to 6 hours before nightfall and then stay for the lights. I found the people very friendly and most were willing to help me. They used their phone translator App to assist me. BE SMART, get a SIM card at the port of entry. All shops can only sell SIMs to people with a Chinese address and phone number. The ports have SIMs for tourists. Google translate doesn't work get another translate APP.
We had an exceptional customer service experience with Ms. Beta, as always. From check-in to even after check-out, she ensured our safety and well-being, including our transportation to the airport and our return to Singapore. What's more, she surprised us with a thoughtful gesture - a refreshing cold-brewed tea specially prepared and delivered to our rooms during our stay, considering the sweltering weather. We will undoubtedly choose to stay here again for our future business trips to Shenzhen
Close proximity to shopping area like next door and the metro station. Generally clean room with comfy bed and clean bathroom. There was a male receptionist conversant in English, and there no issue communicating with my simple Mandarin. Drop off is outside the main shopping district of Dongmen, so it will avoid traffic jams. Lots of food options are available like street food and proper restaurants. My go-to hotel for my yearly shopping trips to Shenzhen.
It is our first time in Shenzhen. The hotel is just 10-15 minutes from Shenzhen train station which costs only 15 RMB to the hotel. The location of the hotel is great. It is near to shopping places and restaurants. Although our breakfast is completely different from China, we could find things to eat and we are happy about the breakfast. The receptionists are very helpful , thanks to all of them.
If I come again, I will definitely stay at this hotel.
Like so much of China, the apartments and surroundings were spotlessly clean. It has the feel of a hotel, although there is only a reception and the room is cleaned every day. The room was spacious, nice shower and also a small balcony and a washing machine. Nice view of Shenzhen from the 49th floor. Staff helpful and friendly although limited English (bring an App!). Close to shopping areas and restaurants. Good value for money
It is a very nice hotel, and I always stay here when I visit Shenzhen. Located in the center of the Luohu district, it is very close to the metro station, restaurants, and commercial areas. The quality of service is good.
I want to offer particular thanks to the manager at the front desk, Mr. Peter Wu, for his help.
Also, thanks to Eason at the front desk for his assistance
One of the rooms that we booked was a corner room, and the city view was enthralling! My family and I have visited so much 5-star hotels, and this is by far one of my kids' favorites. All hotel employees were polite, accommodating, and good in English. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and are filled with high-end furnitures/products. It was also close to malls like Coco Park.
Excellent location, just minutes to metro station and MH Mall.
Staff were very friendly and helpful especially Jessie Doug who gave us a nice corner unit with an excellent view.
I guess that day was not too busy, we got our room when we arrived at noon.
We even received a birthday cake from the hotel because we came here to celebrate our niece’s birthday.
One of the best hotels I have stayed in shenzhen. Excellent spacious room with all the modern facilities, elegant decor and its comfortable beds and linen. Great view and location too, staffs are most helpful and friendly. Breakfast is wonderful. I would highyly recommend it to any Travellers who wish to stay in a modern, clean and comfortable hotel !
Hotel is old and looks a bit dated now but very clean,I stayed there 23 years ago and everything is exactly the same.
Breakfast was very good and so much to choose from.
Pool was very clean and good changing facilities.
Hotel is very quiet and well below capacity right now .
Room rates are good right now as its still very quiet in Shenzhen right now.
This is a great place to stay in Shekou. It is a very nice neighborhood in Shenzhen, though it is not centrally located in the city in general. With that said, it is a better quality of life than other areas, with a hiking path and cafes and restaurants, as well as the waterfront within in waking distance.
Staff of most of the hotels I have stayed in Shenzhen before May 2023 can't speak English and so communication is a big problem. But in Sunshine hotel many staff, be it at reception or restaurant or at room service can speak English.
It is a good clean hotel with courteous and helpful staff.
The hotel was absolutely amazing, it exceeded our expectations.
It was a proper quiet oasis in between the busy city. I personally stayed in Shenzhen before (different hotels in different districts) and this was the most quiet and comfortable hotel as per my experience.
- Bedroom and especially the bathroom were spacious and clean.
- Breakfast was good and well organized.
- Had no problems with Wi-Fi.
All in all a very solid stay. Would recommend this hotel for everyone who stays for some days in Shenzhen and want to stay central.
The location of this hotel is super awesome and at the heart of Luohu district. Walking distance from Line 1 of Shenzhen metro, King Glory Plaza Mall, and Dongmen. Lots of places to shop and eat around the hotel
